What this does is to automatically complete the address you are typing in the address bar with one from the browser’s history that matches what you have already typed. In the Safari web browser this feature comes active by default, however in Firefox you will have to activate it by following the steps.

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. In the address bar type about:config.
  3. Now in the Filter field type browser.urlbar.autofill. At this point you will notice that the inline auto complete feature is disabled.
  4. Double click the feature to enable it and to enjoy the benefits of inline URL auto completion.

Note: For those pages that are stored in your browser’s history with www. in front, you will have to type the three w, otherwise this feature won’t work.
